Christmas Cuties!!!

I have always wanted to dress my kids alike, especially since having Mason! But so far I haven't purchased one set of outfits exactly the same. . . until now!! I couldn't resist taking a few pics of these little Christmas Cuties all dressed alike! And little Mason even sat up all by himself for quite a long time for his photo shoot! Now I'm just lamenting that I don't have a better camera so that the quality were better because I got some cute ones! Thanks for humoring me kiddos, I know how much you all LOVE pictures!

Temple Square

I know of no better way to bring in the holiday season than a trip to see the fabulous lights at temple square. I loved seeing the awe and amazement in Mason, Daxten and Hadley's eyes as they took in the truly spectacular display.
Mase just cruised around in his stroller looking up at the trees, fascinated by all the colors. Chad gave the kids hot hands to put in their pockets so Hadley tootled around with her hands in her pockets the entire time loving every minute of it. Daxten couldn't wait for the hot chocolate afterward. He was so excited for it even tolerated a few pictures. He loved the nativity scene and finding the baby Jesus. What a great reminder of the reason for the season. I hope that my children are able to keep the spirit of Christmas with them as we celebrate this year.

SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!!!

Mason loves rice cereal!!! Today he got his first taste of it and he LOVED it. Normally when I first start feeding babies cereal I always make way too much because they just push it around in their mouths and then spit it back out but he gobbled it right up!
That is until he got so excited that he knocked the bowl right out of my hand! He looks pretty proud of himself doesn't he!

I also take back the comment in the last post about loving the snow. It was fine and dandy until I had to shovel it!!! We still have tons but thanks to my little helpers it is no longer in our driveway!! They were troopers and came out and helped me shovel the entire driveway. Hadley would wander out into the deep snow, fall down, and get stuck and scream until I came out to get her and then she would do it all over again. Mase would jump whenever a flake happened to land on his cheek but he loved to watch and Dax was actually a great little shoveler! Hopefully we don't have to do it again anytime soon,

Out of the woods??

I wonder why it is that the only thing that I can get my children to share is the SWINE FLU!!!! It has been a zoo here at our house. Chad even came home from his hunting trip early to help me care for our 3 sick kids!! (Thanks babe, I know it was a huge sacrifice and a really long drive!!!)
I have to think I may have jinxed it because I called and set up the kid's second H1N1 shot thinking we would be good to go but then the next day called to cancel it because it was all ready too late! Poor little Mason has had the worst of it. He had ear infections, a skin infection and the dreaded flu. Poor little fella. However we are finally all feeling pretty good and I think after the millionth can of Lysol and bottle of children's Tylenol we may be able to FINALLY escape our quarantine. Thank goodness for DVR or we may not have made it through!

Since we got the pig flu I forgot all about posting turkey day! Thanksgiving happened 3 times for us this year!! MMMM. . . 3 slices of pie, 3 massive helpings of mashed potatoes and 3 food comas! It was fabulous. We had dinner with Chad's grandparents on Tuesday, then with my Grandparents on Thursday and finally dinner at my Mom's on Friday. Dax discovered that he didn't really like pumpkin pie, only the whipped cream on the top and Hadley found a friend to help her make her Turkey!! Addy is so sweet with her, I just wish I had a built in Addy at my house!! Mase slept through most of it, making it that much more enjoyable. (dinner always tastes better if you can eat it with out a child screaming in your arms!)

Today I am loving the snow, only because I'm sitting here in my nice heated home and sipping my hot cocoa and listening to Christmas music! If I had to be out in it I wouldn't like it one bit. Tomorrow we will be going somewhere, anywhere!! At this point I would even settle for the grocery store because it means we would be out. Hope you are all staying healthy and loving the Christmas Season as much as we are!

The upper hand!!

Since my sweet hubby is leaving for his "annual" Montana hunting trip, (He just returned from the Green River on Sunday but he keeps informing me that it is "Hunting SEASON"!) I have a huge upper hand when it comes to favors for this week. I decided to use one of my card and talked him into. . .
Putting up our Christmas Tree before he goes! Hooray, no hauling that darn thing up all by myself this year. The kids were sooooo helpful and decorated the bottom half of the tree fabulously!!

And we even added a new ornament this year. . .

All though Chad thought he would make a much better tree topper!

I was laughing so hard when I turned around and saw Hadley digging through the decorations so she could dress up like Santa because that is exactly what Dax did last year!! I didn't give her the idea she just did it all by herself, it must be the age! And of course Daxy had to get in the action!!By the time we were finished we had 2 happy Santas and 1 very reluctant, very sleepy Santa!!
So we hung up our hats and called it a night!

Thanks Chaddy, I love my tree, especially since I didn't have to carry it up the stairs! But beware I may still have a few more cards left in my hand!!!

A Tastier Turkey!!!

I love the internet because you can always find such cute ideas for the holidays. I saw this turkey cupcake and had to give it a try with the kids! (It's a good thing that I have kids because otherwise I would be making silly little things like this by myself! What can I say, I love holiday goodies!)Hadley was so sad when she tried to eat hers because his feather kept falling off so she would stop and fix him. Daxten kept eating all the eyes a.k.a. chocolate chips! He had a handful to begin with and by the time he got around to putting them on he didn't have any left! I gave him 3 more. He looked at them carefully and then said, "Do turkey's have 3 eyes?" and then gobbled up one of them as fast as he could.
Afterward the kids read with Grandma and Grandpa, played with Aunt Charity and Uncle Chase and then hurried home just in time to see Aunt Jenni before bedtime! What a day!!
Now we are all excited for the real turkey on Thanksgiving! Hope you all have a great holiday!

Worth remembering!

I always say that I am going to write down the funny things that my kids say and do and this week has been full of them. This is mostly for my own benefit but hey, read on if your bored!

Daxten gets in these giggly moods and I thought I could make him laugh at the song "On Top of Spaghetti". I started singing but . . . with big alligator tears welling up in his eyes, he looked at me, "Why, why did he loose his meatball Mom?" I explained to him it was because someone sneezed it away, hoping he would laugh but he just cried more. I told him it was just a meatball and not a big deal, "But Mom it still makes me sad!" He lamented the loss of the meatball for a while and then was fine and went back to playing but I think I have traumatized the poor, tender-hearted kid. So much for my dinner plans, we may have to hold off on the spaghetti for awhile!!

I took Mason to the Doctor today for his 4 month check up and decided to get the other kids flu shots out of the way while we were there. When the nurse came in Dax was screaming and hiding under a chair because he was not going to get a shot and Hadley was jumping all around the Dr.'s office being a bunny. She got her shot, cried for half a second and was fine. Daxten got his and then he wanted me to carry him to the car because it hurt so bad he was NEVER going to be able to walk again!! As we left Dax was STILL crying and Hadley walked out, looked at me and giggled, "WOW, that shot was TERRIFIC Mom!!" Hmmm, isn't it funny how different 2 kids can be!

Daxten and I were cuddling after the little kids went to bed last night and I was telling him how when he was a baby I could hold him for hours while he slept and just cuddle and love him because I didn't have any other kids to take care of so I could pay 100% attention to him. He glanced up at me with a huge grin, batted those big blue eyes and said, in the sweetest little voice, "Ya Mom, maybe we could just get rid of Mason so that you can get my chocolate milk whenever I want it and I won't have to wait while you take care of him!" I was shocked because he REALLY loves his baby brother. I asked him if he would be sad if we got rid of Mase and he though for a second and then said, "No because then I will get the things I want much faster!" Let's get this straight it is traumatic to loose a meatball (mind you that Dax doesn't even like meatballs) but you can get rid of your baby brother as long as you get chocolate milk!! It's okay buddy, sometimes I think Daddy feels the same way!

No shock that Hadley was being a little mischief maker at the grocery store the other day. She stacked up all the cans of Christmas cookies in a huge tower-like pile while I was checking out and couldn't reach her, and then took off running when I caught her in the act! As soon as I caught up with her I threatened to sell her. I snatched her up, started to hand her to the cashier and said, "Here, I would like to return this!" Hadley started laughing and SCREAMING, "Hadley for Sale!! Hadley for Sale!!" I told her I didn't think that anyone would buy her and Dax piped in, "I bet Grandma Kristy would buy her!" Yes buddy I think your right, at a moment like that only a Grandma would take that little fire cracker!!

Speaking of Grandma's a while back my Mom was running in a half marathon. I had told Dax all about it and the night before we were out on an evening walk when he started wishing on stars. "I wish I may I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight. I wish that Grandma would win the running race!!" He must have said it at least 2o times. Then we got home and got ready for bed. I said our family prayers and blessed Grandma that she would be able to run well and have strength and energy to make it through, and then I finished our prayer. He just sat there with his eyes closed and his arms folded, "But Mom you forgot to bless that she would WIN the race!!" Then he said his own prayer to help her win laid down contented and went to sleep!

Well, for tonight that's all I can remeber and my eyes are getting sleepy so I think I to will be contented and call it quits!

Home Alone. . .

Chad is on his way home from Idaho. He has been up there for work and we have been hangin out on our own this week! But never fear we have had a ton of fun. First, Hadley dumped the entire contents of the brand new box of lucky charms into the strainer to feed to her stuffed cat. She was quite proud of herself. She had her very first tea party with her new tea set. She loved it but Daxten kept getting mad because she would put the plates in the wrong spots and he likes nice tidy tea parties!! (Don't tell Chad!)
Bright and early the next day they decided to throw all the pillows to the bottom of the stairs and create "PILLOWLAND". Don't ask me, Grandma taught them this one! But even Mason got to get in on the fun.Later that night we decide to take a tip from my friend Brittney and create our own drive-in movie! They had a ball! We made cars out of boxes, popped popcorn, bagged treats and pulled on up to the big screen for our own private showing of "Land Before Time, The Great Day of the Fliers". What a great idea, it was a huge hit! Thanks for sharing.
Last night we took a trip to wish our cousin Macy a very happy 7th birthday! It was fun to celebrate with her and play with our cousins. Thanks for letting us share your special day Macy!

So today we are anxiously awaiting our trip to the airport. My kids LOVE the airport. The get to buy a treat and watch for Daddy and it is definitely a huge thrill in their little worlds! We can't wait for him to get home. Missed you Dad!!
