Happy Birthday Daddy!!
Chad is funny, he HATES it when you buy him presents for any event, birthdays included. I think part of it is because he doesn't like buying presents for anyone else and if you get a present for him, well you get the picture. But he does love a good celebration so for his birthday every year we try to make a special weekend of it instead of giving gifts. Normally we hit up the zoo but this year we decided to go to Park City instead. We took the kids on the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. It was hot and crowded because it was Labor Day weekend but it was worth it. He took Hadley down the slide, I took Mason and Daxten got to cruise all by himself!!! I didn't dare ride the coaster with the baby belly so Aunt Bri took Hadley and Chad took Dax while Mason, Rue and I got a snow cone!! (Which was delicious FYI! I think I may need one of those on a daily basis!) On our way home we got sandwiches from the Dodo, to go because the kids were sleeping, and enjoyed a great dinner at home.
Chad is a great Dad. He may not change diapers but he always finds time to throw, chase, toss, tickle, cuddle, snuggle and tease the kids and he loves them more than anything. If you ask my kids they will tell you "Daddy always says YES!" He is definitely the favorite parent. They don't even know how lucky they are to have a Dad like him! He is also a terrific husband, he has been known to tackle an entire laundry room full of clothes in a single Saturday, he recently brought home $200 cash and insisted I spend every penny on new clothes for myself, he comes shopping with me even though I know that he HATES it and he even manages to make up an opinion on things just to satisfy my need for him to have one. Most impressively he manages to put up with me, even when I am pregnant! (that is true love!!) Funny things about Chad, he paces while he talks on the phone, he sleeps with his socks on and he even takes socks when we go boating, he makes up his own vocabulary in which only his children are fluent, he is befuddled by the shape of the pie since you can never manage to get the appropriate portion of crust to filling (I make his pies in a square baking pan!), and he can tell you every cell service provider on every cell tower you come across from here to California! (warning: of you ever go on road trips with him this can get extremely annoying!!!) What more can I say except that he is terrific and we are so glad that we got to spend the day celebrating him!! We love you Daddy, HaPpY BiRthDaY!
